[!todo] Seed note. A starting point, not a finished note yet.
DevEx (developer experience) is a 2023 framework from the paper “DevEx: What Actually Drives Productivity” by Abi Noda, Margaret-Anne Storey, Nicole Forsgren, and Michaela Greiler. It argues that productivity is best improved by fixing the lived experience of development, captured in three dimensions: feedback loops (how fast tools and people respond, from test runs to code review), cognitive load (how much a developer must hold in their head to get work done), and flow state (how often they can work without interruption). It is the third framework DX Core 4 unifies, alongside DORA Metrics and SPACE Metrics, and supplies the perceptual, friction-oriented view that the delivery metrics miss. Connects to SPACE Metrics, whose satisfaction and efficiency dimensions it sharpens. Seeded from DX Core 4.
